Docket No. R-2010-2172665
Generation Supply Service Rate
(GSSR)
The GSSR is the un-regulated, wholesale cost of the energy product that Citizens' Electric purchases and delivers to the customer meter. The cost is a straight pass-through; Citizens' Electric does not profit from this charge nor does the GSSR include any regulated, distribution costs. Please refer to the Tariff download above for complete information regarding rates.
Effective January 1, 2012 through March 31, 2012 the GSSR is 7.1179 ¢/kWh.
On or about March 2, 2012 Citizens' Electric will file a petition with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to adjust the GSSR to reflect current energy costs and market conditions. Pending a formal review and audit by the PUC, the new GSSR will be effective April 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012.
Default Service Program
On February 25, 2010, pursuant to the Electric Generation Customer Choice and Competition Act and other regulations, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC or Commission) approved Citizens' Electric Company's Second Default Service Plan (Plan). The Plan continues the use of the Commission-approved Stratified Procurement Plan, which includes a portfolio of energy products (a mix of spot market, short-term, and longer-term block products), to continue to meet their default service obligations. The Commission agrees that this approach remains consistent with the Competition Act, the Commission's Regulations, and reflects the intent of Act 129.
