Citizens' Electric Company has certified to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission that this is an accurate electronic representation of the tariff which is officially filed at the Commission.   Users of electronic tariffs should note, however, that such tariffs are not the official documents, and users assume responsibility for reliance upon tariffs in electronic format.

The Tariff is available for inspection and review at the Citizens' Electric corporate office, 1775 Industrial Blvd., Lewisburg, PA  Printed copies may be obtained at a cost of $1.00 per printed tariff page, payable in advance.  Please mail a check made payable to "Citizens' Electric" and a request indicating the desired page(s) to: Citizens' Electric Co., PO Box 551, Lewisburg, PA 17837-0551, Attn: Gene Cree.  Allow two weeks for delivery.  Sorry, no e-mail orders will be honored.

Citizens' Electric Proposed Rate Increase

On June 2, 2010 Citizens' Electric filed a request with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to change electric rates beginning August 1, 2010.  A "Notice of Proposed Rate Increase and Tariff Changes" was mailed to every customer on June 9.  The materials filed with the PUC are available online or may be viewed at the Company office.

Generation Supply Service Rate
(GSSR)

The GSSR is the un-regulated, wholesale cost of the energy product that Citizens' Electric purchases and delivers to the customer meter.  The cost is a straight pass-through; Citizens' Electric does not profit from this charge nor does the GSSR include any regulated, distribution costs.  Please refer to the Tariff download above for complete information regarding rates.

        Effective July 1, 2010 through September 30, 2010 the GSSR is 6.9464 ¢/kWh.

On August 31, 2010 Citizens' Electric filed a petition with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to adjust the GSSR to reflect current energy costs and market conditions.  Pending a formal review and audit by the PUC, the new GSSR rate will be 8.2207 ¢/kW and become effective October 1, 2010.

Default Service Program

On February 25, 2010, pursuant to the Electric Generation Customer Choice and Competition Act and other regulations, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC or Commission) approved Citizens' Electric Company's Second Default Service Plan (Plan).  The Plan continues the use of the Commission-approved Stratified Procurement Plan, which includes a portfolio of energy products (a mix of spot market, short-term, and longer-term block products), to continue to meet their default service obligations.   The Commission agrees that this approach remains consistent with the Competition Act, the Commission's Regulations, and reflects the intent of Act 129.  The PUC Opinion and Order as well as the Plan in it's entirety is available below.
