What is the $1 Energy Fund?
It's a nonprofit organization that helps low-income families pay their utility bills.
How does it work?
Eligible families must apply for all available energy assistance grants before applying to the $1 Energy Fund, and meet the grant program guidelines that include making a sincere effort of payment.
How can people apply for $1 Energy?
Applications for the $1 Energy funds are available at the Citizens' Electric Company office, 1775 Industrial Blvd. in Lewisburg.
How can I help?
You can elect to add a tax-deductible donation of $1 or more to your monthly bills. This donation can be designated on the return stub of your bill and can be stopped at any time simply by notifying us in writing.
We'll double your contribution!
Citizens' Electric Company will match 100% of every dollar donated by our customers. This means that every $1 donated becomes $2, and 100% of those contributions are used to provide energy grants to needy families. Not one penny is applied to administrative costs since $1 Energy Fund raises administrative monies through other sources.
